.: The 500 ...
So... It has, once again, been a while since my last post. This is frankly because life has not been too much fun over the past few months. I have been job hunting and making a lot of trips between Richland and Spokane. I was offered a few positions, but we wanted to hold out for a good position and not just another filler position. It was hard because we weren't certain if we were making the right choice in not taking the low paying positions I was being offered.
I did manage to get some freelance work for a couple of weeks in March and it really helped out. It felt good to be working again. The best part was that I could work from home and it was really nice. M would go to work and I would keep working while I kept an eye on the kids.
Just after the freelance thing got going, I started interviewing with a company in Spokane. We swore that we would never move to Spokane, but nothing else was working out. I came up a couple weeks in a row and met with a couple of people and I ended up being offered a position. (If you want to know exactly where I am working, you can contact me.) I have been working at the new company for a couple of weeks and I really enjoy it. It is not that stressful (unlike my previous design job) and I really enjoy it. The people I work with are really nice and I am not micro-managed all day. I work 4.5 days a week because I work nine hours on Monday to Thursday and four on Fridays. I really like having that extra half day even if I have to wake up really early the rest of the week.
So, we live in Spokane now. We are back in apartment living. We are in a townhouse. It is really nice because it's only 14 months old, but it is 500 sq feet smaller than our last place. We got rid of a lot of stuff and a few boxes will have to go into storage. There are perks here. The rent is cheap and they have racquetball courts in the complex! They are really nice and it is fun to play again since I haven't played since college. Also, our good friends live in the complex and others live not far away! It has made the transition a lot easier to have them around.
It was hard to leave Richland. We had made really good friends at church. I am not sure if we will ever end up back there, but I am really happy to be here. It feels good to be working at a good job and bring more stability in supporting the family.
So... on the entertainment front... we are still on Season 5 of 24. We watched a couple episodes last night. I know am addicted when feel that I actually missed the show when I heard the opening 24 clock sound. Sad... but true. I have also been into several podcasts lately, but I doubt listening to anything about news networking and technology would interest anyone but me. I have been listening to Diggnation, Geek Brief TV, and Round table on the Book of Mormon. I am also now an avid sudoku player. I was able to find a good program for my handheld and I have really been enjoying it.
Anyway, I have also posted our family Christmas card below. I finally had somewhere to host the file that was large enough to hold all the pictures. I hope you like it. It's a little something M and I threw together in January. I hope I can work out my music hosting too. I have some great music to upload for the SOTW!
Al and Sariah, I am enjoying your blogs. I am reading them a lot more regularly since I have linked to the RSS feeds and I can see when they are updated. You have to stay on me to keep mine up to date.
That's all for now! Stay tuned for more adventures from Spokane.
PS: Just grab the corner to flip the pages in our family photo flipbook.

Glad you're happy in the new job. It was a lot of fun to look at those pictures. It's amazing to see how much Parker and Dallin and Perrin look alike in a lot of your pictures! Crazy. Keep writing keep writing keep writing. ;)
