.: I'm in...

I just received a confirmation email that I am registered for the two classes that I can take this quarter at the community college. So, I am starting the four-year trek to my Masters in Computer Science. I'm pretty excited! I think that I will be able to continue to work part time at the magazine. We'll see what happens. I'm just glad to be starting school and doing something completely new. It should be a lot of fun.

My parents have been down visiting since last Thursday. It has been a lot of fun. We went for a walk around the neighborhood on Thursday evening and the Art Walk on Friday. They had some cool booths there and my mom was in heaven looking at all the crafts. We went to see Pirates of the Caribbean 2 on Saturday evening. It was a good movie, but I think I liked the first one better. The acting was good and the action choreography was really cool, but the bad guys were really disgusting and it was a lot to take for that long. I am turned off mussels for a bit. The best part was just being on a date! No kid time is a good time. Our babysitters are real troopers. When we dropped our kids off, they were babysitting two other kids from our ward plus they had their own two girls. So, they had six kids under five years old. Pretty brave. Their apartment complex also did not have any power and still didn't when we pick up our kids four hours later. They are the best free babysitters ever!

We found out that we are having family move to the Tri-Cities. My sister is getting married in November and she will be moving here. We are really excited to have family close again. It should be fun for the holidays and good for our kids to have cousins close. Also, my brother got a job so I am pretty happy about that too. It's nice how things work out after a lot of hard work.

So, Song of the Week... I was on the way home from work the other day and I was listening to the high school run radio station. They had this song that was pretty fun to listen to. I tracked down who the artist was. Her name is Regina Spektor and the song is called On the Radio. It's catchy and I like the part about November Rain. It may remind some of you of high school. I think Guns and Roses Use Your Illusion album came out when I was in grade 10. Good (and bad) memories. I also had to re-format my Song of the Week section due to a hosting issue, but hopefully this will work for a bit.

And... I have been on the South Beach diet for about a month and I have lost 15 lbs. I am pretty happy about that.

M got this in her email and I thought it was pretty funny!

Congrats on losing 15 lbs! That's great! :)

I got a list of "101 Ways to Annoy Your Roommate" once, and I think a few of things from your list are on there. Same with my "50 Fun Things to Do in an Elevator". That's some good stuff.

You can have your rifle back anytime you want. I got a new one. That won't give me splinters (yeah, I know, I gotta retape yours and I'd be fine. Yada yada yada). Anyway, you want your rifle, you come get it. :D
